Returning to Mt Isa was purely functional, and despite the copper mine smack bang in the middle of town, we had a soft spot for it. A desperately needed mud wash for the car and trailer was in order, before preparing for Grandpa’s arrival! Chris was flying to meet us, to knock off some mammoth driving days with Alex through outback QLD while the girls and I flew to Brisbane to spend time with Andy. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and catch up, the girls revelled in the novelty factor of his miners cabin on-site at our caravan park, and next morning we farewelled the father and son on their merry way! Us gals had some hours to kill before our flight – chicks on the loose in Mt Isa!
