Djab Warrung and Jadawadjali country.
10 – 14 April 2022, 1119kms.
Early on Day 2, after stocking up at the biggest Harris Farm on the planet in Albury, we crossed the mighty Murray river, over the border and into Victoria! An epic drive through vast farmlands, å roadside lunch stop and at long last we arrived in Gariwerd, the Grampians, to kick off a week with dear friends, the Staffords – Staffo, Lisa, Violet, Eloise and Jimmy Joseph! Kid gangs and campground freedoms. Up Gar (Mt Difficult), spectacular views across Djab Warrung and Jadawadjali country, and deep into the valley to the Moora Moora, skipping stones, building fires, toasting jaffles. Icy cold mornings waiting for the sun to peep, conversing with the cockatoos, inhaling cups of tea. Venus baths to splash in breathtaking mountain top pools. Much longed for blue skies. So lucky. So far from the city in every way.
