Another big day of rural driving for dad and I – lots of cleared green paddocks. We passed through some iconic and very lovely towns like Longreach and Roma. Good coffee in both of those makes for happy travellers, and mobs heading home from the Big Red Bash brought the camper vibe to the route. The GIDGES hipcamp was a great stay. The Mega fire pit at our site we fueled for the swans game on the iPad, making for a memorable match, particularly with the Bloods smacking the doggies. It was a very cold night, down to 2 overnight – literally frosty! With bedding for the tropics, Dad had all his clothing on top of his jarmies, but nothing was enough! I had no idea QLD got this cold!
